Fact Families

• Questions 14–25 in the Using Fact Families section in the Student Guide can be assigned as homework.
• Assign the Homework section in the Student Guide.
• Assign Home Practice Parts 1 and 2.
• Assign DPP items E–H. DPP Bit E provides practice finding the median. Task F involves finding area and perimeter.

Math Facts. In Bit G, students practice math facts by skip counting by 5s and 10s on their calculators. In Task H students practice the multiplication facts by finding a rectangular array for 40 and writing a number sentence.

Part 1 of the Home Practice reminds students to take home their flash cards for fives, tens, and square numbers. Students may practice these facts with a family member. Part 2 of the Home Practice provides additional practice with fact families.
