F. Parallel and Perpendicular
You will make one drawing for Questions 1–6. Read all the questions before you start. Use a ruler.
- Draw a line segment on your paper and label the endpoints A and B.
- Draw a line segment parallel to AB and label it CD.
- Draw a line segment, EF, perpendicular to AB and intersecting AB and CD.
- Is EF also perpendicular to CD? Why or why not?
- Draw another line segment that is neither perpendicular to nor parallel to any of the others and label it GH.
- Carefully erase your letters and show your drawing to a friend. Have him or her show you a pair of parallel lines and a pair of perpendicular lines.
